Architecture Intern, Store Design

Little, nationally recognized as a “Best Firm to Work For”, is seeking an Intern Architect for our Store Design Studio in our office in Costa Mesa, CA.

 

The individual selected for this opportunity will collaborate with the project team focusing directly on the production of design development and construction documents for our retail clients, taking design ideas to production documentation.

 

He/she will be responsible for updates, including red line revisions/corrections and construction documents.  He/she will be able to produce a complete set of drawings with all client requirements, code requirements, standards, and necessary site adjustments. The primary focus of this role is on technical drawing tasks, but given the nature of the Studio, some degree of design work and collaboration is expected.  The ability to complete code research of specific jurisdictions prior to generating an entire set of architectural drawings is also required.

 

This individual will typically receive daily assignments from a Project Manager to support the studio in meeting established deliverables under specific deadlines, and ensuring those deliverables meet and exceed the expectations of our clients and consultants.

 

Key growth opportunities in this role will include: Becoming familiar with a design collaborative process working in a multidisciplinary environment Learning or refining REVIT (BIM) skills Increasing technical knowledge in a wide range of store design projects Gaining additional experience in the process of organizing a complete set of construction documents Working with different management styles and exposure to a variety of Store Design Retail clients.



The successful candidate will have a minimum of 1-3 years of experience and a Bachelors degree in Architecture.  Proficiency with production drawing skills and AutoCad (or other program) is also required.  Working knowledge of 3D software programs is a plus as a prerequisite to learning REVIT.  He/she will use multiple software types during the collaborative creative engagements with a primary focus on REVIT (BIM)/CAD for the production efforts to complete routine changes to projects under the supervision of an experienced Project Manager.  Design and presentations software skills would be considered a great benefit to collaborate on design efforts.
