Assistant Facilitator / Technical writer - editor

Job Purpose:

 

Assist in coordinating, facilitating, writing, editing, reports for Value Engineering studies on building construction projects.   

 

This is an entry or junior level position that is designed for growth.  We will train you to become an Associate Value Specialist (AVS) and Certified Value Specialist (CVS).  See www.value-eng.org.  PMSI is a construction consulting firm located in Rockville, MD.  Individuals with backgrounds in  construction cost estimating, architecture, engineering, and marketing would also find those backgrounds compatible.  See www.pmsi-online.com for company information.

 

Duties:

* Coordinates value engineering workshops.

 

* Writes and proofreads reports by detecting and marking grammatical, data entry, or compositional errors.

* Understands and records discussions to ensure that the report is readable, accurate, and consistency.

* Checks cost estimates for consistency. 

* Maintains quality results by following and enforcing standards.

 

Skills/Qualifications:

Thoroughness, Attention to Detail, Written Communication, Quality Focus, Productivity, Copywriting Skills, Planning, Independence, Creativity, Oral Communication, Math Skills.

 

Training and knowledge in engineering, architecture, and/or construction are helpful, but not required.  Applicants must have excellent writing skills.
