Convention Center is an architectural masterpiece and a renowned meeting place, in our nation’s capital. It is one of the largest and most prestigious sites in ARAMARK’s facilities portfolio. The facility is comprised of 750,000 sq. feet of exhibit space, 65 meeting and conference rooms, over 750,000 sq. feet of perimeter space, and a 45,000 sq. foot elaborate ballroom which hosts a number of High Profile functions and World Class events. In total, 2 Million square feet of interior and exterior space.  Some of these events have included:  President’s Gala Ball Hilary Clinton’s Reception Congressional Black Caucus Convention AARP Convention D.C. Fine Arts Show Greater D.C. Auto Show Leukemia Society Ball Corporate MeetingsARAMARK manages and operates the complete facilities functions of all space and cleaning services for the Convention Center site.  The Convention Center possesses a strong management staff and proven operational procedures.  POSITION DESCRIPTION The Assistant General Manager for the Washington D.C. Convention Center will report to the General Manager and will work with a team including 6 Functional/Operational peers. The position will support the management all of the daily Operational and Facilities Management aspects of the site including:  Meetings with Customers and Clients Housekeeping and Maintenance of the Site Space Site Visits Event Reviews Multi-task with Team on Multiple Special Projects Research & Development of Chemicals The site operates 24/7 as Spring and Fall months are the busiest seasons for Conventions and Special Events. Must be available to work some nights and weekends if applicable to Special Event. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of an Associate’s degree and a minimum 3-5 years of facilities management experience. Candidate must have the ability to partner with all levels of the organization and be able to manage challenges faced by the client management team effectively. The ability to influence strategy and provide operational solutions is essential. Experience with the use of chemicals and cleaning solutions is necessary for this role.  Strong organizational, time management and leadership skills are also critical. Some Union experience is preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is necessary along with solid written and verbal communication skills. Minimal domestic travel for training, development and projects required.
