Assistant Project Manager - commercial construction

My client is a leading developer and investor in Northern California, specializing in the renovation and repositioning as well as ground-up development of office, industrial and retail properties. The selected candidate will oversee design and construction teams for multiple commercial projects, focusing on tenant improvements for retail, restaurants, and offices typically in the greater Bay Area; developing and managing project budgets from early concept stages through project completion; coordinating with acquisitions and leasing staff, tenants (and their contractors); processing invoices and managing design and construction contracts and change orders; and interfacing with public agencies to facilitate project approvals and completion. They are offering an attractive compensation package which includes base salary determined by experience, annual bonus, and equity, medical, dental and 401k. To be considered for this exciting, challenging and career expanding opportunity, you must have 5+ years of experience in real estate development or related field such as construction, architecture or engineering. College degree required (B.S. in architecture, engineering a plus) but they will consider highly qualified individuals without a degree who possess a very strong technical background in design and construction of real estate development projects (ground up, renovation, tenant improvements)- commercial, retail, industrial tenant improvement project experience preferred. Experience with project planning, entitlements, managing design teams, cost estimating, construction permitting and familiarity with design and construction contracts is required, as well as strong experience in bidding and administration of construction projects, change order procedures and budget controls.
