Business Manager / Accountant

BUSINESS / FINANCE MANAGER

The Shurburtt Corporation is seeking to add a new member to our management team immediately. We are looking for a business manager to assist the company in the areas of finance and growth opportunities. The Shurburtt Corporation is a fast-paced, growing landscape design/build firm headquartered in Spartanburg, SC.

Qualified candidates must have experience in accounting or finance and business operations. This leader must have the ability to manage and lead our company by sound financial planning and reporting, and strategic perspectives. Must have excellent computer skills and the ability to be creative and flexible in order to meet deadlines while working with changing priorities.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform general business and office management, administrative and bookkeeping functions for the company such as accounts receivable/payable, payroll and benefits, and invoicing using industry specific accounting software for multiple companies and accounts. Direct all operational analysis, including planning, forecasting and branch/facility analysis Provide guidance and support to production managers to assist them in decision-making Work with the CEO to implement company policies, procedures, financial and operational controls Establish overall goals and objectives for business units’ operations, financial and administrative areas, and evaluate new opportunities for growth. Complete special projects, miscellaneous assignments and other Accounting and HR related duties as required and assigned from time to time.

 



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Four-year degree in a business related field required or the equivalent in experience. Excellent knowledge of bookkeeping and/or accounting procedures. Good administrative and management skills. Strong communication, analytical, planning and organization skills. Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism and minimal supervision. Ability to be creative and flexible in order to meet deadlines while working with changing priorities. Highly motivated, self-starter, able to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to complete all work accurately and in a timely manner. Ability to maintain discretion and confidential nature of company business and transactions. Excellent understanding of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
