TITLE: CHIEF MARKETING OFFICER
GENERAL SUMMARY:

The CMO will focus on developing and implementing a strategic and tactical marketing and sales plan for a rapidly growing, architectural engineering and professional staffing organization that utilizes cutting edge, 3D Architectural and Engineering technology deployed by distinct business units:
Included within the plans will be considerations for; 1) defining core company competencies, 2) identifying target markets, 3) industries and customers, 4) planning to achieve increasing market share within those markets, 5) matching marketing plans to support sales in each of the target markets, 6) becoming the market leader in the companies chosen markets, 7) setting department goals and establishing reporting (methods and metrics) and, 8) accountability to achieve goals.
The CMO oversees business units that need a unified comprehensive marketing strategy. The ability to drive a strategic agenda and influence others who don’t report to this position will be a critical measure of success. Key growth drivers for this company are innovation, acquisitions, organic growth and geographic expansion.
The ideal candidate must be comfortable and have experience working in a matrix organization, developing strategic marketing and sales plans, building tactical marketing and sales plans, integrating acquired marketing and sales forces, creating and following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for each area of responsibility, working globally, and driving innovation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Plans and directs all aspects of GHAFARI marketing policies, objectives, and initiatives. Plans and directs all aspects of GHAFARI sales policies, objectives, and initiatives. Provides skills and expertise in developing and managing GHAFARI marketing and sales teams capable of carrying out the necessary marketing and sales strategies and tactics. Oversees and manages all activities related to conceptualizing and implementing strategies and achieving marketing and sales targets. Generate and/or coordinate the generation of business plans and marketing plans for the GHAFARI. Establish or help to establish measurable steps to accomplish the plan. Develop and/or coordinate the deployment of marketing and business development tools and infrastructure, most notably the CRM system. Research and report on market trends and benchmarks in the industry. Assist in developing analysis of strengths, weakness, opportunities, and threats by market. Research and report on competitor trends and benchmarks. Create best in class benchmarks and recommend changes to existing GHAFARI marketing collateral. Coordinate with executives to identify, record, and proactively track networking opportunities and project opportunities. Coordinate the identification of project opportunities including review of routine periodicals and other research materials. Manage the development of sales support materials such as handouts, presentations, storyboards, and other graphical support items consistent with our image and brand identity. Participate in or recommend industry-related associations, functions and conferences to promote company’s name recognition and increase market share. Manage and motivate a staff necessary to execute corporate objectives in a creative and cost effective manner. Develop and maintain appropriate intranet and web based strategies that promote and differentiate GHAFARI.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
1) 15+ years of marketing and sales experience with 10 years minimum verifiable senior marketing and sales leadership (direct management responsibility) in medium to large-sized A/E firm
2) A proven track record of success in sales growth, margin growth and marketing and sales personnel management;
3) Experience with companies undergoing rapid change and growth with a focus on new technologies, products and innovations;
4) Experience developing and growing a marketing and sales departments;
5) Verifiable ROI and sales tracking, analysis, and reporting skills;
6) Great strategic planning and execution skills;
7) Understanding of global markets and experience selling into those markets;
8) Strong leadership, communication, presentation, organization and interpersonal skills;
9) Experience selling in industrial markets, particularly automotive, aerospace, trucking, or recreational vehicles;
10) Superb writing skills;
11) Computer literacy for all major business programs and email systems;
12) MBA degree preferred. Undergraduate degree required.
