COMPANY DESCRIPTION:

SGE is a privately held outsourced contract manufacturer specializing in custom equipment for the Waste Water Treatment, Power, Petrochemical, Food and Beverage, Hydro-Pneumatic, HVAC, and Municipal marketplaces. SGE is led by an energized management team that brings youth and years of experience to a great business. Presently we are experiencing significant growth and expect to do so during the next several years. Our growth will come both organically and through acquisition. SGE specializes in designing, engineering and manufacturing Water Treatment Vessels, Hot Water Storage Tanks, Hydro-pneumatic and surge Tanks, Blow down Tanks, Chlorine and SO2 Bulk Storage Tanks, Hot Water and Steam Generators, Degasifiers, Deaerators, Flash Tanks and Stainless Process Vessels of all types. We fabricate all structural components necessary for skids, piping, ladders, platforms, and internals. We provide house painting and lining as well as assembly services. For the HVAC market we build skid mounted packages which include chillers, boilers and all necessary tubing and wiring.

On over 5.5 acres 50,000 square feet of covered production space and 100 tons of lifting capacity SGE can well handle all of our customer's current and future needs. We have over 100 SGE family members and are looking to add another to our fine estimating department.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for an innovative, forward-thinking confident person, with a solid understanding of ASME Sec.VIII Div 1 Code, previous design experience and who is enthusiastic about being an integral part our engineering team. This position reports directly to the Engineering Manager.  Responsibilities include performing ASME or API calculations as well as various stress analysis calculations for vessel attachments.  Excellent Auto Cad skills are required to design pressure vessels in a fast paced manufacturing environment. 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop engineering drawings from Sales Order information and customer drawings.

Perform ASME calculations for pressure vessels.

Perform API calculations for storage tanks.

Engineer vessels and components to meet customer needs and applicable code requirements for manufacture in SGE Fabrication facility.

Coordinate drawing approval with customers and process customer revisions.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering a must with preference to degreed Mechanical Engineers.

Experience with ASME pressure vessels or a related field a must. 

Minimum of 5 years experience in design engineering with one to two years; experience with Auto Cad.

Design experience in a manufacturing company.  Must be familiar with various manufacturing processes; especially weld symbology and welding procedures.

Strong analytical and organizational skills

Solid Word and Excel skills

Must be able to work independently on assigned projects/programs

Self starter, motivated

Must be able to apply knowledge and skills to the day-to-day operations and search for process improvements

Excellent written and oral communication skills
