The Décor Project Manager reports to Northeast Regional Marketing Coordinator in the Regional Office located in Edgewater, NJ. This person focuses on messaging, strategy and design; collaborates with Construction Coordinator on timelines, budgets, installation; supervises the Décor Design Assistant in meeting the décor needs of all stores in the Northeast Region. This position acts as the creative link among our Coordinators, who create the programs that make our new stores an exhilarating place to shop; the Marketing Team, who drive our messaging in store and out; and the Construction Team, whose challenge is to build dynamic stores on time and on budget. WILL DO: - Participate with the regional team & creative director in creating the design strategy and concepts for new stores and remodels. - Collaborate with outside architects on color palette, furniture and finishes for stores & remodels. - Design sign fixtures to communicate functional and branding information to customers. - Coordinate, implement and ensure quality of all interior décor elements (signage, plants, & other finishes, murals, etc) - Work extensively with the marketing team to develop needed copy and facilitate approval process for all messaging - Support décor needs of existing stores - new & replacement items, remodels - Manage ongoing décor schedules and timelines - Partner with Creative Director to create tools and process for stores to order turn-key store décor items - Create tools & systems to streamline the décor process and fully engage all parties from regional team to store team - Create opportunities to leverage costs through multi store purchases or best practices - Fully support and participate in the store décor installation process - Track multiple fast-packed projects, budgets & timelines MUST HAVE: - Exceptional organizational & communication skills. - Ability to synthesize feedback from multiple sources into a workable action plan. - Discipline to stay focused on strategy & objective. - Ability to work with individuals from a diverse set of backgrounds with varying degrees of experience in construction & design. - Extensive knowledge of and experience working with construction projects. An understanding of terminology, processes and tools (construction documents and shop drawings, etc.). - Ability to strongly manage vendors. - Experience in selecting materials, furniture and finishes to meet overall design objectives. - Strong design background with demonstrated success in consumer communication. - An affinity for working in a self-directed atmosphere. - Available to travel extensively and work nights & weekends as required. - Ability to coordinate décor elements in order to create a dynamic store experience that supports our retail needs. - Extensive experience managing detailed, multi-faceted line item budgets. - Experience working in visual and industrial arts or construction fields. - Experience with managing projects from concept to completion. - Demonstrated sense of design & décor, familiarity with trends in the industry. - Expert knowledge of design software including Illustrator, Photoshop, In Design. - Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project or similar project management software. - AutoCAD Drafting and Sketchup experience a plus.
