Job Summary:Function as the Lead Electrical Engineer in the design and preparation of construction documents, while providing technical direction to designers and drafters assigned to specific projects.  Design, develop and implement solutions for the microelectronics, BioPharm, Federal Government, and other industrial facilities.  Engineer V - Applies diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to broad variety of assignments and related fields. Makes decisions independently regarding engineering complexities and methods. Requires use of advanced techniques and modification and extension of theories, precepts, and practices in individual's field. Registration as licensed Professional Engineer is required. Supervision and guidance relate largely to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters. Consults with supervisor concerning unusual problems and developments. Typical duties and responsibilities include the following: Supervises, coordinates, and reviews work of small staff of engineers and/or technicians.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

· Provide Electrical Engineering services to design, specify, and approve power distribution required for the construction of state of the art microelectronics and other facilities. 

· Interface with utility companies, construction supervisors, and vendors. 

· Facilitate power quality studies, capacity studies, remediation, UPS and emergency power strategy, short circuit and load coordination studies, and control system strategies.

· Function as the Lead Electrical Engineer in the design and preparation of construction documents. 

· Provide technical direction to designers and drafters assigned to specific tasks. 

· Responsible for the quality and delivery of schematic and detailed designs.

· Professional Engineering approval of work performed under direct supervision. 

· Thoroughly familiar with National Electrical Code, NFPA documents, and building codes.

· Able to incorporate ‘green’ features into design solutions.

· Familiarity and competence with the following:

Ø Use of electronic mail and Excel /Word software.

Ø SKM Power tools for Windows

Ø Lighting Programs

Ø Familiar with Autocad software

· Other duties as assigned by the Project Engineering Manager.

 

Skill and Educational Requirements

B.S., Electrical Engineering. 7 to 10 years experience. P.E. license by examination and previous semiconductor, government or manufacturing project experience mandatory.

 

Inter-Relationships

Shall have experience in managing several projects at the same time Contact with all levels of personnel within company and with clients and vendors.

 

Working Conditions

Work week will consist of 40 or more hours as the project allows.  Travel may be required to client sites.  Relocations to the projects are negotiated at the time of project assignment.  Travel to other offices for strategy and client meetings and for ongoing professional development and training.
