We are currently seeking an Electrical Estimator to be based out of our Atlanta (Tucker), GA, office.  This role is part of the construction group within AMEC’s Power & Process Americas Business Unit which specializes in Industrial Process and Power construction projects. 

 

The successful candidate will have Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering.  Possess an Electrical P.E. license or have a short-term plan in place to obtain. Five (5) years experience as an Electrical Estimator in industrial construction.  Thorough knowledge of Pulp & Paper projects and Power Plant construction.  Thorough knowledge of Cathodic Protection, Fire Detection, GSU assembly, conditioning and ISO phase bus duct construction. Knowledge of electrical and pneumatic instrumentation and ability to prepare estimates from P&ID drawings as well as conceptual estimates from instrument list.  Familiar with all types of electrical specifications and codes. Good communication skills and be well versed in all aspects of electrical construction.  Knowledge and experience with computers/spreadsheet programs. McCormick estimating program experience is desired.  Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.

 

Responsibilities: 

·  Quantity Surveys by means of plan and specification along with conceptual flow sheets and block layout drawings

·  Produce complete installation estimates including present day productivity

·  Knowledge of current specifications and codes

·  Good verbal and written communication skills

·  Cost controls and compilations of actuals from current on-going projects

·  Support manager of Estimating Department

·  Ability to travel with possible overnight stays
