Engineer 3 - Mechanical

HSMM is searching for an Engineer 3 to: Act as government-designated reviewer to perform design review of building HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems. Perform construction administration duties, such as shop drawing review, RFI response, and construction inspection. Help write project scopes of work, perform independent government cost estimates, and evaluate contractor cost proposals. Perform some design duties including studies, and construction documents. Perform other duties as assigned. Work independently and make technical mechanical judgments without need to routinely consult other mechanical engineers. Job Requirements: B.S. in an accredited Mechanical Engineering program. Minimum of 4 to 10 years experience with a consulting engineering firm designing building HVAC, plumbing and fire protection. Physically able to climb ladders and enter utility manholes, tunnels, and other mechanical equipment space. Professional Mechanical Engineer Certification. Must have a thorough understanding and knowledge of the architectural and engineering industry, including the Federal, State, and local laws and regulations that pertain to the industry. Limited travel as required to meet training and project requirements. Strong oral and written communication skills. Willing to work full-time on-site at government office location.  Experience using AutoCAD 2002 or more recent. Experience using Outlook and Microsoft Office (or similar software).
