Environmental Project Manager

Overview: Stantec is one of the largest employers of full-time experienced field biologists in the US East. Our current staff of professionals includes specialists in marine biology, wetland science, wildlife biology, soil science, fisheries biology, botany, hydrology, forestry, habitat restoration, permitting, GIS, and surveying. State and Federal regulators have respect for Stantec scientists and their work. Our Environmental Management Group is dedicated to managing environmental issues proactively and professionally. In the Environmental Management Group of Stantec, team members have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of projects that may include endangered species assessments, habitat restoration, wetland characterizations, or hydrologic assessments. We focus on hiring exceptionally talented, enthusiastic, and hard working individuals that have a keen interest in the natural sciences and working in a team based environment. Responsibilities: Responsibilities will include conducting wetland delineations, wetland function-value assessments, wetland permitting, meet with state and federal resource agency personnel, identify wetland mitigation sites, develop wetland mitigation plans, and prepare reports under the direction of a Project Manager. They can function as de facto Project Managers on small jobs and/or with some clients under the ultimate direction of a Project Manager. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in an environmental field, Master's preferred.Experience: 3 to 5 years professional field work in a specific science including botany, wildlife, soils, hydrology, forestry, or wetland science, with some exposure to project management. Experience in Project and budget management is preferred.
