GIS ANALYST I
JOB DESCRIPTION – GIS Analyst I Requirements –At least 3 years relevant coursework/experience with GIS/CAD software, strong work processing, spreadsheet, data management and analytical skills; and excellent written/verbal communication skills. Job Responsibilities – The job responsibilities for this position include providing support of projects related to GIS and AutoCAD development, sustainment, restoration, and modernization of Air Force infrastructure and real property programs. Typical activities will include: Perform normal GIS modifications and map digitizing using ArcEditor Perform field verification of existing floor plans Development of GIS data collection, maps, map analysis, and presentations tools Development and delivery of training programs meeting client and company requirements Technical research and writing Preparing documents and reports Preparing and giving presentations Physical Requirements - The job will require, but not be limited to, the following physical requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must have the ability and skills to efficiently work in front of a computer workstation for considerable periods of time. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes and airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. The employee is rarely exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. Employee will be expected to drive either a company car, rental car or his/her own car in the course of performing their job. They are typically expected to drive up to four times a month. Employee must be able to perform the physical functions of operating a motor vehicle, including use of eyes, ears, arms, hands, legs, and feet. Employee must be able to prove that he/she has a current, valid driver’s license with no restrictions. Language Skills – Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential. Ability to write routine risk assessment reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customer or employees of organization. Mathematical Skills – Ability to calculate figures and amounts, and to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry. Reasoning Ability – Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to solve problems.
