GIS Systems Developer/ Administrator

Manages GIS Infrastructure including GIS Database Modeling, SDE/SQL Server Administration, Desktop Application Development; Web based application Development, Flow Modeling, and Business Process Modeling; provides technical solutions for GIS configuration, allocation, and project direction;  plans, coordinates, designs, develops, implements, and administer activities and functions related to the integration and development of GIS software programs and applications into the organizations information systems to provide a user friendly environment for spatial information access and analysis. 

 

Works with Division Directors, Department Managers to assess needs throughout the District for GIS services and to make recommendations for improving data utilization and integration; Oversees development of new applications as well as integration of existing Department-specific applications with the GIS Enterprise; oversees training and support of all District employees in the use and maintenance of GIS applications and related database systems; must exercise considerable tact, courtesy, initiative and independent judgment to ensure the smooth operation of a comprehensive GIS system.

 

BS/GIS, 5+ years experience in GIS administration, programming, data management, and modeling. Masters in GIS or related field is highly desirable.  Candidate should have solid understanding of ArcGIS Desktop, ArcSDE, ArcIMS Microsoft SQL Server, ArcObjects programming in the Visual Basic .NET environment, and implementation.
