And we welcome anyone who shares our commitment to ingenuity and excellence.EOE/AA EmployerFacilities Interior Designer Provide professional, productive and cost effective interior design solutions for interior workspaces to support Corporate, Battery and Building Efficiency in Milwaukee and the Field. Plan, design, and furnish interior work environments. Identify, research, and creatively solve problems relating to the function and quality of the interior work environment. Participate as member of a project team, which includes Project Manager, consultants, and other in-house staff.  PRINCIPAL DUTIES Space PlanningWork with customers, (Department Heads, Managers, Division Unit Managers) to collect interior design program information for planning purposes. Work with project team to develop preliminary design drawings and budget information. Select furniture finishes according to program information and approved standards.  Advise customers on interior design factors, such as space planning, layout and utilization of furnishings and equipment, and finish coordination, and refine as required. Obtain necessary project approvals. May be required to assist with writing Appropriation Requests.Interfaces with Project Manager and Portfolio Manager in early stages of lease negotiation to validate space requirements. Furniture and Finish SpecificationsPrepares furniture specification listing and installation documents as required for the projects. Coordinate delivery and installation schedules. Provide information as appropriate to other JCI service departments, (Telecommunications, IT, and Operations) as required. Authorize payment of invoices and resolve any problems with orders/installations. Update record drawings and project files as required. Coordinate completion of finish schedule with Project Manager, specify interior finishes and prepare finish packages for presentation. Coordinate completion of projects and update finish manual for operations staff when appropriate. Identify and obtain new resources for design library and update existing resources as required. Maintain on-going dialog with manufacturer’s representatives to insure best possible solutions and product pricing. Provide design alternatives as a means to control project costs, improve performance and efficiency, and adhere to budgetary requirements. Stay abreast of new developments in the field of architectural interiors for workspace environments. Perform other duties and projects as assigned.Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or equivalent, plus two to three years related work experience, preferably as a corporate facilities designer. Experience with panel systems furniture a must. Autocad, CAP, and Archibus experience highly recommended. Requirements to work within strict budgetary constraints and minimal time frames demand skillful planning and coordination skills.
