Job Description/Responsibilities:

The Intermediate Interior Designer should have 5+ years of experience and is responsible for the development and execution of appropriate design solutions for a portion of a project under the direct supervision of the Senior Designer.

Responsibilities:

Management- Prepare minutes of meetings, guide the skill development of the Junior Designers, and perform all the work within allotted time. Programming- Assist the Senior Designer with implementation of approved programming approach, conduct surveys and furniture inventory, and attend project meetings at discretion of Senior Designer. Also assist the Senior Designer with the preparation of the design analysis and research and prepare required documents.

Interior Design- Prepare plans, elevations, perspectives, and graphic materials for presentation to the clients. Research and recommend appropriate furniture, finishing and accessories. Assist in the preparation of furniture, furnishings and accessory budget. Prepare design development package for the production and prepare study models. Also attend project meetings.

Bidding and Negotiations- review bids and contracts related to portion of project assigned to for content and accuracy for final review by senior designer. Research alternative solutions which may be required because of budget constraints.

Contract Administration- Perform site inspection for verification of design intent, assist Senior Designer with the site inspection of furniture, furnishing and accessories, and review shop drawings for design intent. Also review mock-ups, materials, and finish samples submitted by project contractors. Qualifications:

Degree in Architecture or Interior Design from an accredited institution5 years of progressively demanding experience in design developmentProfessional judgment and ability to work with othersExcellent ability to sketch in 2 and 3 dimensionsAutoCAD, Microsoft Word and Excel knowledgeDemonstrated ability to:Space planInterface with clients and collect/analyze dataPrepare furniture budgets and programming documentsWork with team members in developing details to support schematic and review construction documentsExperience with sustainable design and LEED accreditation preferred
