Intern Architect/Drafter

Objective:

Provide drafting and design services as needed.

  Familiarity with general office procedures.

  Working knowledge of production graphics.

  Ability to read, interpret and generate drawings and sketches via freehand, straightedge, and computer.

  Working knowledge of design development, working drawings, drafting, detailing, and construction.

  Working knowledge of construction and engineering principles, building materials, and detailing.

  Ability to determine and apply relevant (building, zoning and other regulatory) codes.

Extensive computer experience and aptitude and willingness to learn new programs.

Ability and willingness to teach others.

Professional dress and personal presentation habits.

Availability for extended work hours as required.

 

Responsibilities of the Position:

  Provide drawing and design assistance to Design Director, and others as needed.

  Conduct existing conditions surveys.

  Conduct environmental and site research and analysis.

  Ensure code compliance.

  Prepare 2D and 3D presentation materials.

  Assist with design development.

  Prepare design development documents.

  Assist with design and specification of construction details.

  Prepare construction documents.

  Check and coordinate details, dimensions, and specifications.
