Inventory and Supply Chain Manager

Our distinguished client, Avanti Marble and Granite Inc. seeks a strong Inventory/Supply Chain Manager with 3+ years of progressively responsible experience. The successful candidate will possess a service orientation, manage supply/supplier issues, proactively manage inventory and work with internal peers and management to implement best practice methods to improve purchasing operations, efficiencies and strategies. Natural stone product experience will go to the head of the class.

Established in 1997, Avanti Marble and Granite has become one of the Mid-Atlantic region’s premier distributors of natural stone products. Avanti sets the standard for customer service through their team of outstanding employees who share the vision of a customer-driven enterprise.  Avanti’s impressive scope of work includes many commercial projects, including hotels, embassies, restaurants, and office buildings. Business growth has been fueled by the increased demand for natural stone in residential projects. Thus, the company has created one of the largest inventories of unique and exotic stones in the region.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Ensure and facilitate supply to company by proactively managing materials inventory. Work with various internal departments to help research and resolve invoice discrepancies.Coordinate communications, pricing and stocking requirements between suppliers and implement supplier and external warehouse stocking programs.Develop and maintain strong business relationships with customers, suppliers, peers and management.Identify/leverage capabilities of suppliers to implement innovation, reduce material cost, and improve supply and quality. Source specific materials as required. Evaluate supplier bids, and negotiate pricing for materials and services.Coordinate supplier performance tracking; organize bi-annual supplier performance report card process; communicate results to peers and management, take appropriate actions to ensure all supplier performance areas meet or exceed customer requirements.

 REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:AA Degree or equivalent experience.Natural stone experience HIGHLY desired. 3+ years purchasing, planning and inventory management.Demonstrated materials management/operational buying capability.Proven ability to manage change and strong decision making skills.Excellent communicator and demonstrated skills in collaboration.Strong negotiation and pricing skills for materials and services.MUST be proficient in Excel, Word and email systems.Unix-based inventory system management and natural stone industry experience a plus. Excellent written and oral communication skills.Ability to analyze and solve problems.
