Junior and Senior Steel Detailer

STEEL DETAILER - Junior and Senior A steel detailer is a person who produces detailed drawings for steel fabricators and steel erectors. The detailer prepares detailed plans, drawings and other documents for the manufacture and erection of steel members (columns, beams, braces, trusses, stairs, handrails, joists, metal decking, etc.) used in the construction of buildings, bridges, industrial plants, and non building structures. Projects are usually commercial, industrial or municipal. Detailers work closely with architects, engineers, GC's, and other fabricators - STRONG COMMUNICATION SKILLS and a knowledge of the business are essential. The key to success will be the Detailer's ability to manage projects through the fabrication facility, working closely with plant management and the onsite project manager. Requirements: We are basically seeking a detailer with an engineering background, experience with metals (steel is a preference), and knowledge of SolidWorks. If you've got the engineering and metals background but are light in the SolidWorks WE STILL WANT TO TALK. All applicants must have the engineering and metals piece, however. Project management is a big plus. Salary range is fairly wide open but will depend on your current salary and what you bring to the table!
