Kitchen Designer/Project Manager

Job Purpose


Produces kitchen, bath, and custom cabinetry designs by understanding functional and aesthetic design requirements; Provides detailed drawings and specifications to operations department for custom fabrication and installation of high-end custom cabinetry; Communicates with customers to resolve issues and communicate completion schedules.

Duties
Plans design requirements by learning customer design criteria, reviewing blueprints, assessing interrelated products, such as countertops and appliances, and understanding customer budgets. Develops design by creating cabinetry layout and specifying molding details, door style, finish, functional hardware, and decorative accents. Prepares drawings using CabinetVision and documents specifications. Obtains approval of design by presenting and explaining drawings and specification details to sales rep and/or customer. Enters project information into sales order management system.  Prepares detailed drawings, specifications, material lists for operations in order to fabricate and install custom cabinetry. Communicates with customer, as required, to collect additional information required to complete job.  Provides centralized point of communication between operations and customer with regards to delivery schedule and completion of job. Responds to and resolves service requests. Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.


Skills/Qualifications
Training and practical experience with cabinetry design software - CabinetVision experience preferred but not required. Training and practical experience designing kitchens and bathrooms Practical experience managing large, high-end kitchen and bathroom projects. Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to work independently and be accountable for the completion of projects. Microsoft Office
