Now for the Nuts & Bolts:

We’re growing and our Atlanta (Alpharetta) office needs a Mechanical HVAC Designer for large scale architectural building system projects.  You’ll be designing complex architectural electrical systems for large architectural, commercial and industrial projects.

 

You should have at least 1 year of experience designing complex mechanical HVAC systems for large architectural commercial and industrial projects, with preference given towards Laboratory, Scientific and Healthcare projects.  You must also be proficient using AutoCAD. 

 

A BS degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering is a strong preference, but is not required.  An EIT is also preferred but not required.

This important role requires the following skills and responsibilities:

·  AutoCAD proficiency in converting engineer’s markups into working CAD drawings.

·  Perform heating and cooling load calculations with Trace or HAP

·  Plot drawings for review by engineers

·  Draw single and double-line ductwork per SMACNA standards, and size appropriately

·  Use Venttab spreadsheet to develop airside loads

·  Draw hydronic piping and size appropriately

·  Prepare schedule and detail drawings and enter equipment specifications

 

Project engineering experience in the laboratory, healthcare, science, pharmaceutical or bio-technology industries is a plus.
