SUMMARY

Responsible for developing engineering drawings and other documents for process discipline that complies with the level of quality required while conforming to agreed schedule and budget.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

·  Work with the lead engineer/architect to understand the scope of work, schedule, budget, project instructions and responsibilities.

· Work with lead engineer/architect to determine intent and contents of each drawing.  Typical project drawing deliverables include equipment layouts, piping plans, sections, details, process PFD’s and P&ID’s, equipment schedules, and POC matrices.

· Complete drawing responsibility tasks within scope, budget and schedule.  Review drawings for completeness and constructibility.  Coordinate with all other disciplines.

·  Start and maintain a discipline file of working drawings for the project.

·  Perform duties of Senior CAD Operator as needed.

·  Perform field verification and asbuilting activities,

·  Attend client review meetings and present technical drawings as needed.

·  On occasion, work on project team that is comprised of employees from two or more design offices. 

·  Follow all company and project file management protocols and procedures.

· Individual must possess communication and organization skills and be proficient in most MicroSoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).

· Must possess excellent time management skills and willingness to participate in continuous improvement activities. 

· Must possess good technical understanding of most Process and PSSS system design concepts and actively seek opportunities to receive technical training.

· Willingness to work in a team environment and collaborate with others.

· Willingness to perform a variety of tasks on short notice.

· Willingness to mentor and train other junior designers.

· Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced working environment with little or no supervision.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Three to five years experience in AutoCad 2000, Micro-Station.  Must be able to read and understand process, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation & controls engineering drawings and architectural plans.

 

INTER-RELATIONSHIPS

Contact with all levels of personnel within company.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work week will consist of 40 or more hours as the project allows.  Travel required to client sites.  Relocations to the projects are negotiated at the time of project assignment.  Travel to Corporate Offices for strategy and client meetings and for ongoing professional development and training.
