Methods Engineer

Sandvik Tooling, the world’s leading manufacturer of cemented carbide metalworking products, has immediate Methods Engineer openings, in its Mebane, North Carolina facility. This exciting opportunity will allow one to improve existing manufacturing methods and processes including CNC programs. This position will report to the General Manager of the facility.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

In this key role, the Methods Engineer will function as the project engineer in production development. This individual will be responsible to define targets to be developed and manage practical changes according to project plans devised together, so that the schedule and costs remain within set goals.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Investigate, establish and implement requirements for equipment, tooling, materials and methods of manufacturing

• Write, review and revise CNC programs/operation sheets

• Automate CNC programming through high level programming (C/C++, Grip)

• Minimize production costs

• Confer with engineering personnel on design changes, tooling and new product development including pk

• Responsible for the designing of products

• Lead and support process improvement projects for lower production costs and improved quality by investigating processes, automation, and tooling

• Provide daily process support for production floor

YOUR PROFILE

The ideal applicant will posses a Bachelors Degree in Engineering (required), an Advanced degree would be a plus. The candidate must possess strong programming knowledge in C/C++ with CAM programming experience required, Unigraphics experience is a must. The candidate should possess at least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or CNC technique, with at least 1 year of experience working on projects. Candidate must be results oriented and analytical with fluent knowledge of English in both written and verbal communication.
