Municipal Engineer-in-Training

We collaborate on developing innovative solutions for complex projects in the areas of advanced water and wastewater process design, water supply, conveyance, pumping, and storage. Responsibilities: Specific responsibilities of this position include the following:1. Project work assignments related to planning, preliminary design, design, and construction management services for various water, wastewater, water resources, and related infrastructure projects for municipal clients. 2. Analyze and evaluate various technical problems to contribute to the development and improvement of concepts, techniques and procedures. 3. Responsible for own work within specified field. Work will be performed under the direct supervision of a Project Manager. 4. Duties involve performing basic engineering calculations and assisting with project management and administration, including report writing, information and data evaluation, drafting correspondence and preparing various deliverables, including technical reports, plans, and project status reports, and potentially monitoring construction activities.5. Assist with submittal reviews and design intent responses during construction projects. 6. Requires judgment or initiative in resolving issues and making recommendations.7. Ability to coordinate activities of project staff and subconsultants in support of the Project Manager8. Work in a manner to ensure your personal safety and that of fellow employees by following company health and safety guidelines and policies. Qualifications: 1. BS degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or equivalent is required; EIT certificate and/or MS degree preferred. 2. 0 to 2 years experience, or interest in working with, municipal water, wastewater, water resources, construction management, or related projects. 3. Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills. 4. Computer aided design (CAD) experience and/or formalized coursework. Geographic information system (GIS) skills desirable, but not required.
