EEO/AAP Employer This senior level position will be part of a highly technical team responsible for the planning and implementation of TDS Telecom's IP and TDM networks.Major focus for the position will be in the areas of Broadband Access, VoIP and complex service provider networks. This position will identify new technologies and lead projects to integrate new technologies, vendors and products into the network.The candidate will be expected to create high level network designs and present them to peers and Senior management. As such, excellent written and verbal communication skills are a key requirement.Lead and mentor engineers and technical operations teams.Candidates will be expected to work multiple projects simultaneously and meet project due dates. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Business OR 8 + years of large scale Voice/Data/Video networking or related field. In addition, 5 + years of work experience in Voice/Data/Video networking or related field. 3 + years technical leadership in managing system wide projects.Other Qualifications : Significant experience planning and implementing complex service provider networks utilizing BGP, OSPF, and MPLS. Experience negotiating and establishing network interconnection with external carriers. Significant experience planning and implementing Voice Over IP networks utilizing SIP, MGCP, session border controllers, firewalls, broadband CALEA, access gateways, feature servers, etc. Significant experience planning and implementing IP network quality of service techniques/configurations. Knowledge of copper and fiber Broadband Access networks. Experience with IP multicast routing. Thorough understanding of network architecture planning fundamentals such as architectural designs, engineering standards and technology assessments. Also familiar with fundamentals of product integration and support model ideologies. Excellent project management skills. Must have the ability to understand a business need and provide network requirements. Proven leadership skills and the ability to assemble clear and concise documentation. Excellent written, presentation, and oral communication skills. Experience in performing cost and comparative analyses.In addition, candidate for this position should have the following characteristics: Ability to make timely decisions.
