Physical Design Engineer

Ambric is currently searching for a Physical Design Engineer. In this position, you will part of a team implementing large, complex deep sub-micron ICs. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Helping determine the process roadmap for our integrated circuits Helping develop a design methodology that supports our integrated circuit designs Assisting in the evaluation and qualification of 3rd party intellectual property Aiding with package and substrate selection

Qualifications:  Experience in synthesis, timing closure and placement of 65nm (desired) and 90nm (required) design projects Thorough background in physical design flow including floorplanning, physical synthesis, clock-tree synthesis, auto- P&R, SSTA, LVS, DRC, and power-management techniques Experience with RTL coding for ASICs and bus functional models, RTL simulation, synthesis and place and route tools Working knowledge of Verilog or VHDL Excellent communication and influencing skills Strong program/time management skills as well as a strong background in hands-on debug and validation experience in a lab environment A self-starter Ability to work with minimal supervision Creative ability to design and debug based on personal expertise and leveraging of technical resources Ability to work well in a team environment Ability to multitask

  Experience: 6+ years Education: Masters or Bachelors degree: EE or CS
