Plumbing/Fire Protection Design Engineer We are seeking a Plumbing/Fire Protection Design Engineer to join a leading, dynamic team in NYC. Candidate will prepare (redline) design layout drawings, calculations, and specifications related to plumbing and fire protection systems.  Performs equipment and piping selection and sizing, calculations, product specifications, design and layout for roof drainage, sanitary systems, domestic and non-potable water distribution, process and laboratory piping systems including compressed air, fuel gas, and vacuum piping.  Experience in automatic fire sprinkler and standpipe systems also desirable. Assist in coordinating all aspects of the project design with project management, architects, and other trades through the completion phase of a project. Perform and check CADD drafting work. Responsible for Code compliance. Strong knowledge of plumbing and fire protection system design to include types of equipment utilized in the industry as well as general understanding of water supply and waste water system operations. Thorough knowledge of plumbing code requirements including NYC Building Code, NYS Plumbing Code, and the National Standard Plumbing Code. Knowledge of NFPA 13 and 14 Standards desirable. Ability to communicate with all levels of management, including project management and field trades. Ability to read mechanical and plumbing plans. Has competency in basic computer Skills to include CADD and Microsoft Office products (specifically Excel.)15+ years experience in related field.  Certified in Plumbing Design by ASPE desired.A world of opportunity
