This position will serve as a technical designer and team leader on medium to large size oil and gas refinery projects.Key Duties:• Design drafting, checking and field verification of foundations, steel structures and related tasks for refineries and process units.• Perform quality checks and verification of compliance to national and client standards of all civil/structural drawings.• Provide construction support as necessary.• May lead a group of designers on medium to large sized projects requiring multi-discipline design teams.• Under minimal to general supervision, will independently evaluate, select and apply industry standard engineering techniques and procedures related to structural engineering design.• Projects include process equipment supporting structures, pipe racks, foundations for large petrochemical process vessels, process buildings, containment structures, industrial and commercial buildings, and seismic retrofit of existing structures.Qualifications• High school diploma or equivalent and 2-year degree in drafting/design or equivalent work experience• 15 years minimum experience in structural design of concrete and steel structures for refineries, petrochemical plants or a related industry• Experience must include design drafting of foundations, structural steel frames, underground gravity piping, pavements, etc.• Working knowledge of concrete and structural steel design in heavy industrial plants and experience in field walk-downs.• Proficient in AutoCAD with the ability to work with Windows and MS Office.• Strong leadership, written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to function well as a project team member in a multi-discipline engineering company.
