Radio Systems Engineer

Overview: We are looking for qualified Radio Systems Engineers in Dallas, TX area. Responsibilities: • Five years (minimum) of increasingly responsible technical planning, design and implementation expertise with private radio systems; including three years of direct lead or oversight for a specific radio system implementation.• Demonstrated experience with Intermodulation studies, FCC regulations, procedures and waiver processes; radio hardware and software and radio communications standards and protocols.• Proven ability to develop project plans, manage project tasks and issues, report status, and analyze project risk.• Experience managing vendor activities within the course of technology projects.• Past responsibility for creating and issuing procurement requests (RFP, RFI, RFQ) and/or managing vendor selection activities.• Proven ability to lead the development of project deliverables.• Proven ability to manage project budgets.• Excellent oral and written communication skills.• Good working knowledge of business and/or systems analysis.• Demonstrated experience analyzing and assessing engineering documents.• Ability to clearly articulate technical issues for a wide audience of business leaders, IT professionals, and non-technical personnel in a manner that is understandable to all.• Experience managing multi-million dollar, multi-agency projects.• The ability to create and maintain effective working relationships. Qualifications: • Minimum of bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.• Knowledge of design and testing of digital land mobile radio systems.• Knowledge of digital microwave systems.• Knowledge of trunked radio system operation.• Experience with radio site selection and negotiation experience leading to lease agreements with site owners.• Working knowledge of structural upgrade processes for radio tower s. • Professional experience in the public sector.• PE and/or PMI Certification.
