Senior Electrical Engineer - (Commercial Building Projects for A&E Firm)

We are currently searching for a senior level Electrical Engineer to design electrical systems for commercial and industrial building projects.  This position reports to a Group Engineering Manager and has no direct reports. 

 

Major responsibilities are as follows:

 

Develop design concepts, drawings, and technical specifications for electrical systems (power, lighting, communications, fire alarm systems, video and security systems, telecommunications, etc.).  Prepare related calculations.  Assist with the preparation of cost estimates.  Conduct field assessments pertaining to the performance and condition of electrical systems and equipment.  Evaluate replacement equipment and provide input in the selection process.  Interface with clients and vendors.  Train, instruct, and provide technical assistance to CAD Drafters, Designers, and junior Engineers.  Maintain related project documents and files. 

 

Requirements:

Strong technical and problem solving skills are essential. This person is passionate about playing a role in the development of solutions that meet our clients’ needs and goals.  Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering is required.  PE license is preferred.  7+ years of related experience in an environment requiring electrical systems experience and knowledge of building codes and construction industry standards is essential.  Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, and AutoCAD is required.
