Senior Geologist

Overview: Stantec is seeking a Senior Geologist with experience in geotechnical engineering, geologic studies, hydrology and environmental engineering. The successful applicant will be responsible for the implementation and supervision of geotechnical investigations, geologic and hydrologic studies, environmental projects, and to provide geological expertise. The applicant will be working with professional engineers, geologists and other professionals currently on staff with Stantec, and will periodically be involved with clients and governmental agencies. A working knowledge of Federal and State laws and regulations associated with environmental issues and water resources. And experience in geochemistry and hydrogeology is desirable. The applicant must be willing to travel. Responsibilities: Responsibilities will include performance of geotechnical investigations, geologic and hydrologic studies, environmental studies, and research projects associated with client needs. Duties will include: the coordination and supervision of geotechnical explorations, logging and sampling of soils and bedrock, performing various types of geologic, environmental and hydrologic studies and analyses, and various data processing and report writing. Senior Geologists are often responsible for the safety issues of field personnel during a project. Qualifications: A minimum of 5 years experience and Professional Registration with a minimum of a BS in Geology is required. A Masters Degree in Geology or Hydrogeology is preferred. The successful applicant must be willing to travel and possibly be on project sites for extended periods of time.
