Senior Web Designer

We are seeking a Senior Web Designer in our Los Angeles, California office. 



SUMMARY OF POSITION:



The Senior Web Designer is responsible for the overall look and feel of the company’s Intranet and Internet site by designing innovative, usable, technically feasible, user interfaces for the site. The successful candidate will work directly with web developers, project managers, and business owners to create user-centric designs with the goal of improving user experiences and create standards/templates for the entire web team to work with.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Contribute in site enhancement projects including site redesign, homepage and landing page redesigns, flash design, template and style guide creation, navigation redesign and user interface.

Analyze and evaluate current front-end design/usability challenges and implement effective design solutions.

Design prototypes for user testing and design solutions based on user feedback.

Lead the design lifecycle utilizing the following deliverables: site maps, page flows, wireframes, prototypes, and full screen comps.

Foster a strong working relationship and communication level with IT staff, project team members, and management.

Establish, update, educate, and champion design standards, user experience guidelines and best practices to ensure consistency and maintainability.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Graphic Design, Art or equivalent.

4+ years of web design experience

In depth knowledge and extensive experience with HTML, DHTML, CSS, JavaScript

Must be proficient at writing clean, cross-browser-compliant HTML/XHTML & CSS

Must have experience designing and coding pure CSS layouts

Must have an appreciation and understanding of user interface design (graphics, usability and information architecture)

Expert knowledge and use of Adobe Creative Suite required:  Dreamweaver, PhotoShop, Image Ready, Illustrator, and Flash.

Must have a understanding of web usability standards and web best practices·

Ability to meet deadlines, while working both independently and as part of a team.

Candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to work with little supervision.
