SolidWorks Application Engineer

Shounco Design Studios, Inc., the Locally owned SolidWorks Reseller in the Pacific Northwest has an immediate need for a Applications Engineer in their Oregon office. Details are as follows:

JOB TITLE: Application Engineer



DESCRIPTION: Provide comprehensive Pre and Post Sales Technical Support for the SolidWorks product including demonstrations, training, product positioning, and competitive overviews. Deliver product presentations to prospects both at the end user level and senior management level. Serve as primary technical liaison for assigned geographical or account territory.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 2 to 5 years MCAD industry experience.

EDUCATION: BS Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.

REQUIREMENTS: Good knowledge of the MCAD industry coupled with a BS in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering and 2 to 5 years' experience. Proven strong verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent customer relations skills. Must have CAD and/or solid modeling experience and actual design work experience. These positions require travel.

Technical

1. High end Solid Modeling experience - (Using SolidWorks, Pro/E, SDRC, UG…)

2. Some 2-D experience - To feel the pain of the 2D customer

3. Well versed in Microsoft Windows XP and MS/Office products

4. Some understanding of Networking

5. VB programming experience is a plus

6. Any experience with downstream applications (CAM, FEA, PDM) is a plus.

Industry Experience

1. Understands Engineering processes and terms

2. Understands Solid Modeling processes and technospeak

3. Machine design experience with emphasis on Assembly

4. Product design

5. Tooling design

6. Industrial design

7. Understands the sales process

Presentation

1. Communicates well - Speaks clearly and concisely. Able to establish eye contact and engage the prospect.

2. Listens well.

3. Not afraid to be in front of large audience.

4. Present themselves well visually (dress).

5. Credible - Comes across as knowing what he/she is talking about.
