Sr. Project Engineer

Our business is growing fast and we are currently seeking atalented Senior Project Engineer.TITLE: Sr. Project EngineerRESPONSIBILITIES:• Prepare designs, specifications, and drawings for repair and replacement/upgrade of building electricalsystems and other related systems/components. Manage the RFP process.• Lead Project Team and sub-contractors to ensure that projects are completed within established goals forquality, timeliness, budget, profitability, safety and customer satisfaction.• Lead and organize project management activities – reviewing and updating the budget, preparing andupdating a project schedule, and establishing project communications, standards and files.• Provide consulting/owner’s rep services by proactively evaluating existing building systems andproviding recommendations and a plan of action to repair/upgrade/enhance systems.• Create positive client relationships and pursue new project opportunities that should engage inwith existing customers. Continually develop a strong network with local contractors.• Represent company in a professional and ethical manner at all times.• Pre-construction responsibilities:o Manage the preparation of designs, specifications and drawings for repair andreplacement/upgrade of building electrical systems and other related systems/components.o Create and distribute RFP’s to include development of contractual terms and conditions relatingto proposal/bid pricing. Evaluate responses, award contracts and oversee activity throughsatisfactory completion.• Project Engineering/Management responsibilities:o Manage the performance of construction administration services during major repair andreplacement/upgrade of building electrical systems and other related systems/components.o Supervise and coordinate sub-contractors to assure proper installation of equipment and deliveryof services.o Work closely with companey's clients and vendors to ensure on time, according to specifications,within budget implementation of projects.o Maintain detailed records on all installed wiring, cabling, UPS, HVAC, fire protection,emergency generator, security and electrical systems and components.• Consulting / Owner’s Rep responsibilities:o Manage and/or perform analysis, evaluations and investigations of existing buildings’ electricalsystems, with emphasis on power, lighting, life safety, communications and security.o Prepare and review reports for electrical systems from a design, operation and maintenanceperspective including identification of items requiring remedial action and estimated repair costs.o Provide engineering, supervision and project management support for existing data centeroperations.o Troubleshoot emergencies, potential problems and issues, and organize and supervise resolution.• Ongoing Operations Supporto Provide ongoing technical support, management and oversight of vendors as necessary.o Continually develop local contractor network associations.QUALIFICATIONS:• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience. Construction management skills including: CAD/designreview, implementation, and project management are necessary. Technical expertise relating to datacenters is preferred.• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and/or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management,Civil Engineering or equivalent experience is required. PE designation is preferred• Ability to review, understand, and interpret electrical, mechanical and architectural drawings to a levelthat allows the development of production and engineering documents. Familiarity with the NationalElectrical Code requirements, environmental requirements including hazardous material, spillprevention, and other regulatory guidelines, general building maintenance, and vendor maintenance.• Exceptional project management and organizational skills. Strong analytical and decision-making skillsand advanced troubleshooting and problem solving abilities. Ability to maintain performance levelunder varying degrees of pressure and uncertainty, and effectively dealing with situations for which fewor no guidelines exist.• Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Presents himself/herself well to customers with theability to communicate clearly and concisely, applying appropriate grammar; listen attentively beforeproposing solutions; present ideas in a logical, compelling manner in both small and large groupsettings; communicate technical information to a non-technical audience; and integrate large volumes ofinformation from multiple sources.• Sincere, bright self-starter with a strong desire for achievement and ambition who can demonstrate theability to lead a team while being an excellent team player. Must be able to relate to companyculture.• Travel up to 50% of the time and ability to work flexible hours.• Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft office computer applications such as Excel,Word, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
