Staff Accountant/Accounting Manager
Position Description:This is a new position for Lifescape Associates, Inc. (www.LifescapeAssociates.com) We are a growing landscape architecture and construction company working with high-end residential projects. The Staff Accountant will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and will be responsible for all levels of accounting from entry of payroll time sheets, creation of customer invoicing, payment of accounts payable and the higher level functions of financial statement preparation and job costing reporting. This person must be an flexible, adaptable person who wants to grow with an exciting company.
Duties:
* Payroll -- Daily entry of payroll hour information; ADP external payroll system with be brought in house in first half of 2008.* Accounts receivable -- daily creation of customer invoicing in conjunction with Contract Administrator; communication with customers for collection.* Accounts payable -- daily entry of vendor purchase orders and invoices; reconcile multiple credit card accounts. * General ledger -- Prepares general ledger entries for proper accrual accounting.* Financial statement preparation -- Prepare monthly departmental financial statements; reconcile bank accounts. * Job costing -- Assist Construction Manager with daily job costing report.* Budgeting -- Assist Chief Operating Officer in creation of and management to annual budget.* Procedures -- Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes; maintain records and files; reconcile accounts.* Financial review -- Analyze financial information by developing robust spreadsheet reports and strategizing with Chief Operating Officer on how to drive profitability.
* Self starter -- Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
* Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Skills/Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree, 2+ years Accounting experience, fluent in Excel, attention to detail, good verbal communication, team player. Experience in landscape management software Asset (by Include) is a plus.Compensation:Competitive salary plus full benefits (401k matching, health insurance, vacation, etc.)
