Structural Project Engineer

In this position, you will not only pitch clients, but also be responsible for constructing fee proposals and ensuring financial results. The right candidate will possess the ability to change “hats” quickly and frequently, to sell rather than tell, and to infect others with his/her enthusiasm. In addition, this individual will have an established track record in management and will have the communication and problem solving skills necessary to play an integral role in a team-oriented environment. Qualifications include a minimum of five years experience and a California Professional Engineering License. QualificationsLicensed Professional Engineer in California.Minimum 3 years experience. More years a plus.Demonstrated technical skills mandatory.

 

Responsibilities

To support the company, and specifically the project clients, by doing the following:Understand financial aspects of projectLead project efforts in building structural analysis and designContribute to fee proposalsTechnical coordinationConstruction administrationContribute to schedule preparationQuality assurance / controlAssist with project status reportingPlan tasks and assist with delegation and managementStaff technical training & developmentProfessional developmentVendor / outsourcing relationships

 

Technical SkillsStrong technical abilities in concrete design and analysis, and seismic design principles.Extensive quality control and development of office technical standards.Committee work and industry leadership in structural design preferred.Thorough understanding of mechanics of materials, statics, and building dynamics. Thorough knowledge of UBC and ACIExtensive experience in detailing concrete structures.  Parking structure experience preferred.Basic knowledge of IBC, Steel, Masonry and Timber design and associated codes.Computer skills in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, and various engineering programs such as ETABS, SAFE, PT Data, Retain Pro, PCA Column
