B+A has an “Intermediate Level” immediate opening in our Miami FL office for an Urban Designer who will join our collaborative, multi-disciplinary planning and design team, to work on complex urban projects throughout the world.
Urban Designer’s responsibilities include:Leading design and management of urban, master and site planning projects Collaborating with B+A members and consultants Business development, project management, and managing production Client, consultant, and stakeholder coordination Facilitating public and stakeholder design charrettes Assisting in preparation of proposals and participating in interviews and public presentations.
Desired qualifications:Strong design and graphic skills in master, urban and site planning to address work that ranges from the initial conceptual design through implementation Autocad, Photoshop and MS Office proficiency Diverse skills, and specific interest and knowledge in one or more of the following areas: urban design and planning, master planning, transit oriented development, design guidelines, streetscapes, public spaces and campuses, transit, multi-modal transportation options A minimum of 5-10 years of progressively responsible design experience in planning and urban design. Excellent writing and oral communication skills Documented experience in sustainable/Context Sensitive Design Degree in landscape architecture, architecture or urban design Experience in public involvement and community outreach preferred Free-hand drawing skills desiredA graduate or undergraduate degree with a planning and/or an Urban Design major is required
