Vice President/Director Land/Community Development

Our client, headquartered in Florida, and a leading developer of award winning master-planned communities currently seeks a Vice President Director of Land/Community Planning for their newest endeavor in southwest Florida. The community consists of 17,000 acres, and will provide a full range of housing in all price ranges.  In addition, there will be up to several million square feet of retail and commercial space.  

General Position Description:  Provide oversight and coordination on all community and land planning effortsManage and oversee the departmental planning for Land Use Design, Environmental, Transportation and Ecosystem Responsible for directing the land and community planning for all segments of the master plan, including the Town Center and all VillagesWork with engineering as needed from the initiation of construction drawings until finalization.  Responsible for landscape planning and architectural planning.Responsible for creating both the architectural guidelines and related materials (i.e.: pattern book.)Direct and supervise outside consultants as necessary based on activity levels  Responsible for soft programming (such as park and other amenity designs)Responsible for all streetscaping design, consistent with the standards of the community.

 

Qualifications: Degree in Urban Planning, Environmental Planning, Architecture or Landscape Architecture Certification: AICP a plus A minimum of 12-15 years as a Vice President or Director of Planning for a Development Company or Consulting Firm specializing in large scale master planned communities.Strong expertise and experience with current Florida Land Use and Water Management Regulatory approval processes.Prior experience coordinating zoning, and site plan approval processes; as well as a demonstrated ability for working successfully with the prospective counties, state and Federal planning agencies. The abilities to lead multi-disciplinary project teams, and interact directly with community leaders and planning commissionsExperience in green building or sustainable communities would Strong writing, interpersonal, and teamwork skills a must
