Wetland Project Scientist

Overview: Stantec is one of the largest employers of full-time experienced field biologists in the US East. Our current staff of professionals includes specialists in marine biology, wetland science, wildlife biology, soil science, fisheries biology, botany, hydrology, forestry, habitat restoration, permitting, GIS, and surveying. In the Environmental Management Group of Stantec, team members have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of projects that may include endangered species assessments, habitat restoration, wetland characterizations, or hydrologic assessments. We focus on hiring exceptionally talented, enthusiastic, and hard working individuals that have a keen interest in the natural sciences and working in a team based environment. Responsibilities: Seeking an experienced Wetland Scientist to work on multiple wetland-related projects throughout the Northeast. Responsibilities include wetland delineations and characterizations, natural community mapping, wetland function value assessments, proposal and report preparation, and assisting in wetland permitting. Qualifications: This position requires a Bachelor's degree in an environmental discipline and 2 to 5 years field experience with some exposure to project management. Candidates should have a solid background in wetland science, soil science, and botany. Experience in wetland delineation, wetland function and value assessments, wetland impact permitting and wildlife biology is preferred. Preference will also be given toward candidates that have HAZWOPER 40-hour training.
