Auction Manager

Position Summary

 

Reporting to a Managing Director, this position is responsible for growing and managing the business in the assigned auction.  Duties include managing vehicle flow and quality to meet the auction/customers’ timeline and expectations; supervising Paint Technicians, Paint Preppers, and PDR Technicians; developing and implementing business plans, and building excellent customer relationships. Must be customer service-oriented and business-minded with experience successfully dealing with Technicians, auction management, and customers.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

Daily Operations/Quality ControlManage VCF (PDR and Paint) processes and prioritize resources. Work with Hail Department to prepare hail estimates on factory and fleet lease units. Estimate dealer consignment units. Manage paint supplies inventory. As Paint and PDR repairs exit the repair area, conduct Quality Control check to ensure repair meets standards. Pre-walk the sale line for both PDR and Paint repairs. Distribute re-do list and follow up to ensure that appropriate repairs are completed. Ensure compliance with company policies including all pertinent employment, safety, and environmental laws and requirements, to ensure a workplace that safeguards the rights and physical well-being of every employee. 

 Training

1. Coordinate new hire orientation to ensure new Technicians’ smooth transition in the Company.

2. Conduct monthly meetings with technicians to provide aids, tips, and feedback on sales tools and other performance-enhancement skills.

3. Ensure all Technicians receive proper technical support to maximize their PDR skills.

4. Identify and schedule candidates for advanced training.

 

People Management

1. Act as Team Leader and mentor to Technicians, by remaining in close contact with them day in and day out, through a combination of telephone and in-person interface, in order to identify and resolve any concerns or performance issues.

2. Work with District Manager to ensure proper staffing levels are met to handle current and new business opportunities.

3. Proactively identify and resolve issues with employee performance.

4. Conduct informal and formal performance reviews to ensure employees are aware of their strengths and opportunities for improvement, and develop plans to improve their performance and average monthly billings.



 

Auction RelationsWork with Recon posting department to resolve PT or ECR problems. Work with Auction Inspection Supervisor to educate inspectors regarding Dent Wizard’s PDR and paint repair processes. Maintain Paint department’s vehicle supply line. Ensure that the Paint department remains clean and orderly.Qualifications

Successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, outstanding attention to detail, ability to manage and coach others, time-management ability and a strong work ethic. Prior auction experience is beneficial.
