ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Examines damaged vehicle to determine extent of structural, body, mechanical, or interior damage. Estimates cost of labor and parts to repair or replace each damaged item. Reviews repair cost estimates with body shop manager or foreman. Determines feasibility of repair versus replacement of parts, such as bumpers, fenders, and doors. Evaluates practicality of repair as opposed to payment of vehicle market value before accident. Determines salvage value on total vehicle loss. Prepares insurance forms to indicate repair cost estimates and recommendations. Estimates cost of repainting, converting to special purposes, or customizing undamaged vehicles.

 

The ability to interact with guests and team members effectively, excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills, and the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with guests and team members and to exceed their expectations is required to be successful in this position. 

 

 QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Extensive experience in the automotive shop environment required. A thorough insight into automotive systems and repair techniques (manufacturing, pain finishes). Ability to estimate the cost and price of needed vehicle repairs. Knowledge of new models and product improvements. Knowledge of warranty guidelines and ability to relate warranty guidelines to warranty repair orders.
