Body Mechanic  As the primary transportation agency for Orange County, the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) provides efficient transportation programs and services for the county.  Our responsibilities extend to all forms of transportation including extensive bus and paratransit service, Metrolink commuter rail service in Orange County, planned future rail, freeways, streets and road improvement projects, motorist services and regulating taxi operations. OCTA is looking for Body Mechanics to help keep our fleet of over 700 buses and 150 cars looking great!   Knowledge of: Advanced methods of metal preparation, to include sanding, painting and application of materials related to vehicle body work. Tools and procedures used in performing advanced body repairs. Ability To: Repair, replace and repairing body panels or parts. Troubleshoot and diagnose improper application of paint, metal work or finish. Read parts and repair manuals. Keep accurate records on repairs made. Operate all tools used in repairing or painting of a vehicle, particularly buses. Follow verbal and written instructions. Establish and maintain effective working relationships. Utilize automated maintenance system.  Possession of necessary tools to perform duties.  The pay range is between $18.78  per hour to $26.77 per hour DOE, shift differential may apply. Must be at least 21 yrs old, have valid drivers license with good driving record. Our bus maintenance is conducted 24 hours a day, 7 days 365 days a year.  Applicants must be available to work Swing Shifts, Graveyards, weekends and holidays.
