Branch Manager

Barloworld Handling is southeast’s largest distributor of material handling equipment.  We are part of Barloworld, an international industrial brand management company, whose world headquarters is located in Johannesburg, South Africa.

 

We currently have an opening for a Branch Manager.

 

The successfull candiate will be resposible for managing all operations of the branch within company policies to achieve objectives established for profitability and return.

 

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING REQUIRED:

 SUMMARY OF JOB TASKS

 

1. Develop and manage parts, service, and rental business to meet customer requirements and achieve targeted sales and gross profit levels.

2. Monitor and control branch expenses to insure income is maintained at highest possible percentage of sales.

3. Establish business and marketing plans for the branch and allocate resources to carry out these plans.

4. Monitor aged trial balance to ensure prompt payment of receivables.

5. Assist aftermarket sales in developing sales territory to meet growth targets.

6. Ensure parts, labor and mileage for all service work is properly billed and recovered accordingly, along with managing a parts inventory.

7. Maintain good customer relations by servicing accounts in a timely manner, resolving complaints, and communicating with customers, Hyster personnel and other vendors.

8. Recruit, interview and select employees to service customer accounts and meet budget objectives.

9. Establish training timelines for employees; identify and provide career development.

10.  Administer all company accounting, operational and personnel policies according to established procedures. 

11.  Supervise office staff and department managers.  Establish and monitor performance plans to enable employees to be successful in their jobs.

12.  Maintain healthy and safe work environment by emphasizing employee safety and compliance with all government and environmental regulations.

13.  Ensure all company property is maintained in good operating condition.
