Growing automobile dealership located in Norfolk, Virginia is seeking a detail oriented hands on person with 4-8 years of progressive legal debt collection experience in the automotive finance area to establish an in-house collection’s department for previously written off finance receivables.  The ideal person must be self motivated and enjoy working in a friendly environment with plenty of opportunities for future growth.

 

Requirements:

· High level of  organization a must

· Familiarity with FDCRA

· A strong working knowledge of VA. Collection laws and procedures

· Prepare for litigation and representation in both Circuit and Bankruptcy court

·  Extensive knowledge of Circuit and Bankruptcy court operations and procedures

· Draft and prepare documents for Circuit  and Bankruptcy court

· Prepare Proof of Claims

· Take inbound calls from customers in legal status, using negotiation skills to secure payment

· Obtain and review demand letters, pleadings and other legal correspondence

· Refresh asset searches and perform skip tracing as needed

· Skip Tracing using Lexis Nexus

 

 

 

 

 

 

· Provide post-mortem analysis on accounts on which all recovery efforts have been exhausted

· Verify bankruptcy filing via Pacer

 

Qualification/Experience:

College education, associates degree or equivalent experience in legal collection

Strong working knowledge of collection laws and practices as well as bankruptcy laws

Strong organization, negotiation and analytical skills

Strong asset searches/skip tracing skills

High proficiency in MS Word, Excel and JS Technologies (CollectMax) a plus
