Requirements

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company currently has an opening for a Mechanical Engineer located at the corporate headquarters located in Akron, OH.

The Mechanical Engineers position performs FEA stress analysis in support of product development and core design process development. The structural analyst should be familiar with Finite Element Analysis techniques and experienced in their applications in the product development environment.

Department Description:
Global Design Processes and Standards is responsible for the development of the design process to be used within tire engineering for product development. The areas of focus include Finite Element Analyis, CAD based Geometry, Design Standards and Manuals, and Specification Processing. The development of a robust design process that incorporates the latest technologies is key to possessing the capability to develop industry leading products in an efficient (timely and cost effective) manner.

Requirements:
* Bachelor's of Science or higher level degree in Mechanical Engineering.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products.
* Excellent communication both verbal and written.

Preferred:
* Master's of Science in Mechanical Engineering is preferred with coursework in the area of structural analysis.
* Familiarity with commercial software like Catia, ABAQUS (Implicit and Explicit), and PATRAN.
* Minimum 3 years experience in the area of polymer materials and composite design.
* Minimum 3 years experience in continuous improvement tools like Six Sigma, DFSS, Robust Engineering and LEAN.
