Fleet Diesel Truck/Trailer Mechanic

Growing company in Parker, Colorado has an opportunity for a well-organized and motivated Fleet Mechanic to maintain our mixed fleet of Ford Super Duty Trucks, Skidsteers/Tractors and Trailers.

 

This position will:

·         Perform repair and maintenance procedures on vehicles and equipment

·         Inspect and diagnose electronic, hydraulic, transmission and engine systems

·         Perform engine tune-ups

·         Repair or rebuild components in automotive and specialized equipment such as brake systems and heating/air conditioning systems

·         Maintain vehicle history records, part inventory records and work schedules

·         Maintain accurate record keeping of service repairs on individual units according to DOT regulations or manufacturers specifications

·         Respond to emergency service calls

·         Interpret and make repairs using service manuals

·         Make necessary repairs to keep trailers in safe operating condition by diagnosing and replacing components on the equipment

·         Follow all safety policies and procedures

·         Preventive maintenance – oil changes, fluids, brakes, etc.

·         Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and performing maintenance/repairs

·         Road testing vehicles/equipment to ensure quality of work performed

·         Shop maintenance, including clean-up and organization of tools and parts

·         Wash and fuel equipment as required

·         Other duties as assigned  

 

Physical Requirements:

·         Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds

·         Must be able to push/pull at least 75 pounds

·         Must be able to climb in and out of equipment 

 

Other Requirements:

·         3 to 5 years of experience with diesel trucks, trailers and skidsteers

·         Must have own tools

·         Strong problem solving skills

·         Good mechanical aptitude

·         Ability to work independently as well as with a team

·         Clean Colorado Motor Vehicle Record

·         High School diploma or equivalent 

 

Preferred:

·         Mechanical or trade school certification

·         CDL preferred.  Must have ability to obtain CDL within six months of hire

·         Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications preferred
