MDM Technical Configurator

Requirements

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company currently has an opening for a MDM Technical Configurator at its' corporate headquarters in Akron, Ohio.

Primary Purpose of the Position:
The purpose of this position is to lead Goodyear's system support and configuration for SAP MDM. This person will be a part of the initial MDM project team and continue MDM configuration of enhancements and on-going support as the team transitions to a steady state environment.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
* Build configuration in SAP MDM tool.
* Administer SAP MDM Tool.
* Create and maintain workflow, validations, assignments, master data repositories in MDM tool.
* Document technical specifications for all configuration, procedures, workflows etc. for reuse.
* Lead delivery of master data solutions and implementations from a technical perspective.
* Responsible for leading and coordinating SAP MDM patches and upgrades throughout the MDM environment.
* Participate on new master data implementation projects by suggesting and then implementing the MDM configuration to meet business requirements.
* Identify gaps in MDM tool capabilities based on functional requirements and make recommendations based on previous implementation experience
* Provide inputs on technical implications of specific design solutions
* Carry out unit, integration, system and regression test for MDM technical solution
* Assist IT Data Stewards with technical knowledge of MDM tool.
* Assist project managers on new implementations with project planning, task estimation, resource staffing etc.
* Assist in defining ongoing operational procedures and support processes for SAP MDM tool.
* Provide support for master data projects that have gone live.
* Assist Goodyear's global security teams with expert knowledge of MDM's security concepts.
* Support the business with defining the required security rolls and work with the security dept to implement them.
* Cross train team members on MDM configuration etc.

Qualifications:
Required-
* BS or higher level degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent technical experience.
* 6 or more years of overall IT experience
* 1 or more SAP MDM hands-on project implementation experience
* Hands on experience using SAP MDM tools (Console, Import Manager, Syndicator, Data Manager)
* Knowledge of various master data concepts such as hierarchies, taxonomies, classifications etc.
* Experience building validations, assignments and workflows etc.

Preferred-
* Experience with SAP NetWeaver Products (Portal, PI, BI etc)
* SAP MDM 5.5 SP4 or above experience
* Knowledge of data modeling, data analysis, data cleansing & conversion, and data warehousing.
* General understanding of data quality and data enrichment functions
* Highly motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
* Strong customer service skills.
* Strong Analytical and problem solving skills.
* Strong written and oral communication skills.
