Manager-Operations
Job Description This position manages all activities related to the operations of the Auction and the development of Auction products and services.
Responsibilities Oversee Auction operations on a daily basis, including Lot, Transportation, Vehicle Check-In, Arbitration, Office, Security and Maintenance Departments. Coordinate with Reconditioning, Check-In, and Fleet Lease areas all information needed to schedule and prepare vehicles for sale. Assist General Manager in developing and maintaining operation business plans, including labor hours, cycles, production costs, etc. Prepare operational budget, schedule expenditures, analyze variances and initiate corrective actions. Maintain operational requirements by initiating, coordinating and enforcing production and control standards and procedures. Ensure all established costs, quality, and delivery commitments are met. Coordinate operational activities with all other functions of the Auction and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines and equipment. Review operating reports and direct the resolution of operations, security and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays. Determine responsibilities of assigned staff positions to accomplish business objectives. Train and ensure all assigned employees are aware of and comply with Auction, government, and customer policies, procedures and regulations. Counsel and discipline employees as necessary. Plan, monitor and evaluate job performance, and conduct performance appraisals.
Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.Experience: Minimum of 3 years operations experience required. Experience in the automobile industry or the Auction business required. Reconditioning experience preferred.Competencies/Skills: Excellent communication and interaction skills required. Effective management, decision-making, and organizational skills required. Good computer and software knowledge essential. AS400 experience preferred.Accomplishments(Degrees, Certifications, Languages): Degree in Business Administration or equivalent preferred.Physical Demands: Ability to sit, stand and walk for prolonged periods of time. Vision abilities required include close, distance, color, and depth perception.Work Environment: Occasional exposure to weather conditions, fumes, and noise.
