Requirements
The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company currently has an opening for a Master Black Belt at its' corporate headquarters in Akron, Ohio.

Primary Purpose of the Position :
* To develop and improve the interaction between suppliers and GY/GY affiliates that result in cost savings and sustained process improvements.
* To develop supplier metrics and process and cost improvement models utilizing Six Sigma and LEAN methodologies which can be used effectively across the supply base and easily implemented and communicated throughout the purchasing organization and of which epitomize a world class workplace and supplier interaction.
* To identify, implement, sustain, and report cost down opportunities across the procurement supply base and create value in every project undertaken returning a savings of $500K or greater annually (includes savings on purchase price, staffing, supply chain, and other resources). All savings are validated by Goodyear Finance.
* To manage the global projects which encompass interaction throughout the supplier and GY/GY affiliate organizations crossing such boundaries as manufacturing, finance, supply chain, IT, and etc. to identify cost improvement projects and effectively establish GY as the leader in cost down supplier management.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
* To lead, coordinate, participate, and effectively manage the global internal cross functional and external (supplier (specific) cross functional) teams to identify, define,prioritize, implement, and sustain cost down and process improvement opportunities yielding $500K or greater annually.
* Benchmark world class companies and develop supplier metric/process improvement models which are a direct result of project work which can be used by all commodity groups to identify projects, employ Six Sigma and LEAN Tools, create process and cost savings improvements and to train purchasing associates in the use and effective management of the tools and processes.
* To be accountable to provide monthly reports, key tracking metrics, and etc. on activity which results in savings of $500K annually for each project.
* To foster good supplier and internal customer relationships focused on cost improvement activities and lead the efforts on world class supplier interaction.
* To manage effective communications, communication plans and resources within a yearly budget which may result in 30-40% travel, conference sessions, and etc.
Education Qualifications:
Required-
* Bachelors or higher level degree.
* Black Belt Certification.
Preferred-
* Bachelors or higher level degree in a technical field.
* Masters degree, technical or business major.
* Master Black Belt Certification
Required Experience:
* Successfully performed in a business or technical area as a black belt for at least 5 years.
* Demonstrated experience in planning, organizing and successfully completing complex, high-impact projects.
* Experience in working with and influencing cross functional associates in a positive reinforcing matter.
* Demonstrated self starter with the ability to work successfully, independently, and to deal with ambiguity.
* Impeccable work ethic...willing to step in to complete the job.
* Experience in working with sensitive information as to maintain business integrity, uphold confidential information, and to demonstrate the ability to discern what information can or cannot be shared with certain audiences.
Required Knowledge & Skills:
* In depth understanding of core business processes including procurement, supply chain, manufacturing, technical, and sales.
* Ability to lead or with associates and sensitive information at any level of the organization while building a spirit of commitment.
