Summary of Functions:

The position is responsible for performing routine maintenance and a variety of repairs on IESI vehicles. The position is crucial to the safe and production operation of the fleet.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Performs repairs and maintenance on front-end loader, rolloff and other vehicles to maximize safe and productive operations.Typical repairs include but are not limited to, routine maintenance and repairing engines chassis and body components, hydraulic cylinders, brake systems, suspension systems, wheels and tires.Road tests vehicles to troubleshoot problems and/or test repairs to ensure proper and safe completion.Reads and interprets vehicle condition reports, and/or repair orders, communicates with supervisor and driver for clarification of problems. May discuss preventative techniques with drivers to minimize future repairs. Makes emergency road calls to make repairs on trucks that break down while driving a collection route.Uses a large array of hand and power tools.Pushes or pulls large tool box.Cleans parts and tools with chemical solvents.

 Qualifications:Must be knowledgeable of and capable of repairs in an efficient and effective manner.Must be able to communicate effectively, read, estimate, calculate, interpret, measure and document in writing.Knowledge of Heavy Trucks, Hydraulics, and Fabrication needed.Experience servicing class 8 trucks preferred, but we will train. CDL license or able to obtain one is a plus. Need to have own hand tools.

 Work Schedule:

Starting time is 3 PM.  Approximately 40 hours per week.  Usually Monday – Friday, however must be willing to work on weekends and holidays when necessary. 

 

Salary Range: Dependent upon qualifications and experience.
